About the Digital Archive of His Eminence Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche
The 21st century is the digital age, and Tibetans — both inside and outside Tibet — have embraced the internet as eagerly as the rest of the world. Recognizing this, the Lha Tibetan Heritage Society has launched this digital archive to preserve and share the extensive teachings of Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, as part of our broader mission to promote Tibetan cultural heritage.
His Eminence Rinpoche’s profound insights span a vast array of subjects, including Buddhism, non-violence, education, political science, democracy, law, history, language, the environment, and global peace. While his speeches and writings have been available in English, Tibetan, and Hindi across various formats, they have never before been compiled into a single, comprehensive collection. We are honoured to present all of Prof. Rinpoche’s works in one place — for the benefit of people worldwide, especially Tibetans, Himalayan communities, and Buddhists seeking to study and honour his legacy.
In today’s world, where virtuous conduct is often overshadowed by competitiveness and materialism, an exemplary figure like Rinpoche is exceedingly rare. Unattached to luxury, wealth, or fame, he continues to live as a simple Buddhist monk — dedicating his life to study, contemplation, and practice. A globally renowned scholar in both Buddhist and non-Buddhist fields, and a master of exposition, debate, and composition, he has upheld the integrity and honour of the Tibetan people among scholars worldwide. In recognition of his immense wisdom, he has received numerous scholarly titles from prestigious universities and research institutions across India and beyond.
Prof. Rinpoche has devoted his entire life to the Tibetan cause — encompassing religion, politics, and culture — steadfastly following the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, without ever boasting of his remarkable achievements. The Tibetan people are deeply fortunate to have such a guiding light at this crucial moment in our history.
We are incredibly proud to launch this archive in his honour. It will be continuously updated with Rinpoche’s latest teachings, writings, and philosophy, and offers access to written, audio, and video teachings, photographic galleries, and links to our connected social media platforms. We sincerely hope this humble effort serves a higher purpose.
