Important Announcement: Online Tibetan Language Classes Launching
We are pleased to announce that the newly registered federal non-profit and charitable organization, Lha Tibetan Heritage Society, is launching its online Tibetan language classes on July 8, 2026! Our core mission is to support education, social services, and the preservation and promotion of the Tibetan language, Buddhist philosophy, and cultural heritage.
Leveraging modern digital platforms, our programs are conducted entirely online. We warmly welcome interested students from across Canada and other regions of North America (provided the schedule matches your time zone) to register and join us.
Target Audience: This class is open to students in Grade 8 and above. Preserving and promoting the Tibetan language and Buddhist cultural heritage is our shared and essential responsibility, as it forms the core of Tibetan identity. As the future seeds of Tibet, we hope our youth will join this vital initiative to study, use, and carry forward our language and cultural heritage.
The founders of this organization include former directors and current board members of the Dharamshala-based Lha Charitable Trust. With over 20 years of experience managing non-profit organizations and designing community development projects, they bring a deep sense of responsibility and extensive expertise in education, social services, and specifically, the preservation, practice, and promotion of the Tibetan language and cultural heritage.
Instructor Profile: The classes will be taught by Dr. Gen Dechen Dorjee, who holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and is a former faculty member of the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (Varanasi), as well as the former Principal of the Gangjong Tibetan Language and Culture School. He possesses profound and comprehensive knowledge of the Tibetan language, cultural heritage, and Buddhist philosophy, combined with extensive, decades-long experience in language instruction and pedagogy.
